Saga Adventures Lofoten · Hamnøy
Saga Adventures launches from its own harbour in Hamnøy and paddles a small group into the Reinefjord, under the peaks you've seen on every Lofoten postcard. Pick it if you're staying at the southern end: it's the only paddling trip here that starts in Reine country, not two hours away in Svolvær.

The base is a small activity centre in Hamnøy, about 200 m from the bridge viewpoint and a 3-minute walk from the bus stop, with free parking, changing rooms, lockers and a toilet. Reine is a few minutes up the road; from Svolvær it's about two hours by car. You change, get a briefing and a lesson in the basics, and launch from the operator's private harbour.
There's no fixed route. The guide picks it for the group, the wind, the light and the wildlife, and aims for the quieter, roadless side of the Reinefjord where the E10 traffic is out of earshot. Guides are certified Arctic nature guides, and between them they speak Norwegian, English, French, Finnish, Swedish, Spanish and Catalan.
The rules are firm: no one under 14, no one over 125 kg, and not for anyone with heart problems. Visit Lofoten's booking page rates it medium and asks for at least moderate fitness, so three hours of paddling is real exercise. Our Reine, Hamnøy and Å guide has the rest of the area.
The activity centre is about 200 m from the Hamnøy bridge viewpoint. Park free on site.
Waterproof jacket and trousers, gloves and a kayak vest. Then a lesson on the paddle stroke and safety.
The guide picks the route for wind and light, heading for the roadless shore.
Paddle back in, change into your dry clothes and warm up.
